Coffee cans with simple loop handles were produced by: Coalport, Davenport, Derby, New Hall, Wedgwood and unknown makers.

Coalport

Coalport made two handle shapes: simple loop, and loop with a slight kink. The attachments are usually pointed. Distinguishing cans made by Anstice, Horton and Rose (Thomas Rose) and John Rose is not straightforward!

A coffee can with a simple "loop" handle and 16 flutes. Handle has broadly pointed attchmants. It has "strawberry" pattern painted round inside of rim and 8 painted in pink (~4mm) on base. Davenport

A coffee can with simple loop handle with rounded attachments. No marks. Solid potting in white bone china with good translucency. Shallow foot recess with vertical sides. Little glaze on base of footrim. Gilding is very rubbed. ?could this be Davenport. (aj180, h64, w67.3, b55.5 (63.1) handle: h16 (22.5), v39.6, w9, 6.7, t3.9)

Derby

Derby reeded coffee can with a simple, type 1 wide "loop" handle. Base marked with crown, crossed batons, D and 411 in puce, and N inside rim. (aj481, h62.7, w67.3, b56 (64.7) handle: h15.1 (20), v34.1, w9.9, 6.8 t4.3)

Unknown ? Mansfield/Torksey

A coffee can with a simple "loop" handle with broadly pointed attachments. Handle curves out from can at lower attchment 16 flutes. White body with feintly yellow translucency. Shallow foot recess with shallow obtuse edge. Pale arrow mark. ?Mansfield/Torksey?. (aj375, h64.32, w65.7, b58.9 (65.2)handle: h15.6 (21), v35.4, w9.4, 6.5, t3.4)

New Hall

New Hall coffee can with simple loop handle with rounded attachments and very smooth inside surface. Neat potting in grey body with poor translucency. Shallow foot recess with vertical sides. Little glaze on base of footrim. No marks but this is pattern 202. Gilding rubbed. (a109/aj642, h59.7, w67.3, b53.9 (62) handle: h14.1 (20.8), v30.8, w8.6, 5.3, t4.3)

New Hall coffee can with simple loop handle with rounded attachments and very smooth inside surface. Neat potting in grey body with poor translucency. Shallow foot recess. Wedgwood

Wedgwood coffee can with a simple "loop" handle, eye- shaped in section and with broadly pointed attachments. Bone china body and WEDGWOOD printed� in brick red on the base. (a106, h64 ) S Millington�

Wedgwood pearlware coffee can with a simple wide "loop" handle. This has a small groove down each side and attachments that smooth into the can surface. Base has impressed WEDGWOOD mark, black printed 4 and small painted red arrow. (aj613, h62.9, w64.6, b56.4 (63.8) handle: h20 (23.7), v39.7, w9.6,7.28 t4)

Wedgwood drabware coffee can with a simple "loop" handle and attachments that smooth into the can surface. Pale blue interior. Base has impressed WEDGWOOD mark. (aj580, h62.6, w63.4, b50.9 (59.2) handle: h15.9 (19.8), v41.6, w8.3, 6.8 t4.4)
