Hamilton Flute cups |
Hamilton flute cups are not as common as Bute cups but were made by a number of the main manufactories in the period around 1800. They are similar to the Bute cup but the sides of the cup are fluted. |
Known manufacturers of Hamilton flutes are: John Rose Coalport, Thomas Rose Coalport, Derby, Chamberlain Worcester, Grainger Worcester, Miles Mason, Minton, Pinxton (Berthoud, 1990). Hamilton flute shaped teabowls without a handle were made by Derby (example in Victoria and Albert museum, London), New Hall and John Rose. |
